At Architecture Web Design, we’re privileged to work with some of the most forward-thinking creatives and consultants in the built environment. Our latest launch—UpscalePM.com.au—marks the debut of a project management consultancy that brings architectural precision, lived development experience, and deeply human storytelling into the world of construction delivery.
Founded by Noel Yaxley, Upscale Project Management is more than just a service provider. It’s the expression of a career that bridges design, leadership, and real-world outcomes. From early days collaborating at FJMT (now fjcstudio) on complex public buildings, to managing major civic infrastructure through RP Infrastructure and Sydney Water, Noel has built a practice grounded in clarity, accountability, and trust.
This site is the digital reflection of that ethos.

From Architect to Project Manager: A Career Forged Across Disciplines
Before becoming a project leader, Noel was a designer—and a good one. His architectural journey began at the University of Newcastle, where “learning by doing” fostered hands-on thinking, collaborative rigor, and a love of contextual design. He grew up around architecture too: his mother, a professor, and his father, a craftsperson. You could say it’s in his blood.
We first crossed paths at fjcstudio, working on the Charles Perkins Centre at the University of Sydney. There, Noel moved easily between the conceptual and the technical—balancing detailing with team leadership. That same adaptability now shapes his approach to project delivery.
While still working in architecture, Noel began to sense his strengths weren’t just in designing buildings, but in orchestrating them. He pivoted into project management with a Master’s in the Built Environment and never looked back. Since then, his work has spanned public sector precincts, private developments, and everything in between—from regional ambulance stations to Sydney Water’s new headquarters.
The Brief: Tell the Story, Elevate the Brand
Our brief for UpscalePM.com.au was to design a clean, contemporary site that could distill a multifaceted practice into a single, accessible narrative. It needed to:
- Showcase a project portfolio that spans sectors and scales
- Clarify a core offer—client-side project management for developers and agencies
- Position Noel as both a professional and a person: part architect, part strategist, part developer
- Express credibility through visual refinement and thoughtful copy
- Support a future-facing business with space to grow
Designing UpscalePM.com.au: Boutique Simplicity, Strategic Messaging
The site design balances elegance with precision. We chose a monochromatic palette with confident accent colors to support Noel’s story and reflect the understated strength of his work. Clear typography and intuitive navigation provide structure, while layered project insights bring depth.

Each section was crafted to echo how Upscale operates: methodical, intelligent, and human.
- The homepage introduces Upscale’s mission with confidence and focus: smart, client-side project management that gets things built—without the chaos.
- The About page offers an unusually personal and compelling founder story, rich with authenticity and layered experience—from childhood in Italy to navigating heritage DAs in Newcastle.
- The Services section is sharp and articulate, outlining exactly how Upscale helps developers—from feasibility and team procurement to council approvals and contract admin.
- The Insights section gives Noel a platform to reflect on projects in detail—stories about adaptive reuse, encumbered sites, modular construction, and urban densification. Each one reinforces his credibility through lessons learned and problems solved.
Importantly, the whole site is built for scale—ready to support SEO-rich content, downloadable guides, and project case studies over time.
What Makes Upscale Different?
Noel’s edge is more than technical. It’s personal. He’s not just delivering other people’s projects—he’s a property investor and Airbnb operator himself, with a growing portfolio across Sydney. He understands the pressures, risks, and ambitions of his clients because he shares them.
He also values beauty. Even as he manages deadlines and approvals, Noel stays connected to good design. He works well with architects because he speaks their language. He champions projects that contribute meaningfully to streetscapes and urban form—heritage terraces, regional infrastructure, boutique hotels.
His clients aren’t just developers—they’re collaborators. Upscale attracts what Noel calls “players who care.” People who want to build thoughtfully, profitably, and with purpose.
Featured Projects: From Public Impact to Private Precision
The new website brings Upscale’s portfolio into sharp focus. A few standouts:
- Sydney Water Headquarters, Parramatta
A complex office redevelopment with layered stakeholder coordination, compliance requirements, and a firm commitment to Net Zero goals. - Wolfe Street Terraces, Newcastle
A heritage-sensitive residential project that reflects Noel’s ability to manage DAs, resolve tight urban constraints, and bring architectural judgment to the delivery table. - Rural Ambulance Stations, NSW
Part of the RAIR program, these modular health facilities demanded careful site analysis, stakeholder engagement, and front-end risk mitigation—particularly on mine-affected land. - Boutique Hotel Fit-Out, Sydney CBD
A small site, a dense timeline, and zero margin for error. These are the kinds of projects where Upscale thrives.
Each case study is a story—not just of what got built, but of how.

Content That Connects: From SEO to Real-World Relevance
We developed web copy to be highly legible, SEO-aligned, and human. Each headline serves both clarity and search. Target keywords like construction project management, heritage redevelopment, and urban design delivery are subtly woven through the site, without sacrificing tone.
Noel’s voice is present throughout. It’s direct, thoughtful, and refreshingly transparent—just like his project leadership style.
Why This Matters
There’s no shortage of project managers in the market. But few bring the architectural insight, client empathy, and entrepreneurial mindset that Upscale Project Management offers. The site now gives prospective clients and collaborators a reason to pick up the phone.
Whether you’re a first-time developer, an agency seeking a trusted delivery partner, or a council navigating complex approvals, UpscalePM.com.au shows what’s possible when architecture and management align.
